Trilogy Online Prospectus

Trilogy Online Prospectus

Overview
The mission of The Trilogy Project is to train present and emerging leaders to work within the church community discipling people, planting churches and reaching the nations. Trilogy OnLine offers the same curriculum in a web-based format using streaming audio, video discussion boards and a strong mentoring component. This new online format offers an increased opportunity to schedule participation around work, family and other responsibilities and still receive the benefit of participating in Trilogy. There is also the option of taking less than the full-time four classes per year (two per semester) to accommodate those who, for whatever reason, are uncertain about commitment of a full-time pace. This additional scheduling flexibility and online access from anywhere in the world makes Trilogy accessible to a wider range of students.

The Trilogy Project is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (www.ASCI.org). More than sixty participants have completed the course, many of whom are now leading churches and church plants in the USA.

Curriculum

The three core courses are:

  • Life and Ministry of Jesus
  • Life and Ministry of Paul
  • Jesus and the Kingdom of God

Other courses include:

  • The History of Christian Missions
  • The History of Christian Theology
  • Old Testament Theology
  • New Testament Foundations
  • Wisdom Quest
  • Methods of Biblical Study
  • Biblical Models of Leadership
  • Cross Cultural Missions.
  • Leadership Development

*Additional courses will be made available in the future.

Course Work
Students are required to take the core courses one per year in the order listed above. Other courses can in most cases be taken in any order unless prerequisites are given in the course prospectus. Each course has approximately twelve one-hour lessons accessible through the Trilogy website. Required reading and testing assignments complement the lessons. Satisfactory completion of assignments is a course requirement. Additionally, courses require participation in an associated discussion board. Participation is evaluated and factored into the student’s overall grade for the course.

Lessons and assignments will be made available on the website during the semester in a manner that allows for some degree of self-paced study. Discussion Boards associated with a particular lesson will be accessible on a predetermined schedule, allowing students to participate and interact as a group in the discussion board.

Mentoring
Mentoring in the local church setting is a pivotal component of Trilogy Online. A local mentor is required for each class. A majority of the evaluation and/or review of assignments will be handled at the local level between students and mentors. In the context of the local church, training will be integrated with practical responsibility, which may include discipling others, leading small groups, etc., with the intent of developing life and ministry skills, as well as character. Documentation explaining the mentor role and expectations is available as part of the application process.

Mentors will be provided training and all necessary materials clearly outlining their responsibilities.
